A personal statement and message;
As I continue to learn and understand the culture, history and traditions of the Native people, I become more aware of the importance of not letting go of the past.
Our history is one of triumph and tradgedy, and should be shared by and with all. Todays movements to educate people and to appreciate our traditions is a positive step to bringing attention to the events that made and are still changing history within our culture and our country.
The time for animosity, and hidden pride are past. We as a people and as a nation will not ever forget the many attrocities committed on the Native American peoples, but we can no longer harbor these feelings toward the whiteman and the government.
We can however continue to honor and educate, not only our people, but society as a whole and as a nation.
We can raise our heads and pronounce we are proud of our heritage and say with a smile I am a Native American Indian, and proud of it. .. This I believe, is what our ancestors would have wanted. They are looking down on the new generations with pride in their hearts.
We must continue to move our spirits forward, and to further place the importance of our past in honor of our forefathers.
It is with great pride that I pronounce that I am of Native culture, heritage, and spirit, and I too am hopeful that one day, my children and their children will say with pride the same.
I hope you enjoyed my website and visit often..
